The Commerce Department expects to welcome 91 million international visitors by 2026.
Secretary Gina Raimondo celebrated the progress of the Commerce Department’s National Travel and Tourism Strategy this month, announcing that the goals of the strategy are likely to be achieved ahead of schedule.
The department first implemented its tourism strategy in 2022, with a goal of bringing in 90 million international visitors annually by 2027. However, according to the latest estimates from the International Trade Administration, the U.S. is projected to welcome 91 million annual tourists by 2026.
“Travel and tourism continue to be critical drivers of economic growth and employment across the United States, supporting 9.5 million American jobs and $2.3 trillion of economic output per year,” Secretary Raimondo stated.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Raimondo to receive God’s guidance as she implements tools to support tourism.
- That Commerce Department officials are prudent in facilitating initiatives to strengthen the economy.
